Divorce - Second thoughts
So you've thought it through, talked to your spouse, and it seems your divorce will be ___ (see below to see how we fill in the blank).
Easy
Everyone hopes for an easy divorce, and for your sake, we hope so, too. An easy divorce means that you and your soon to be ex have pretty much both agreed to the divorce, agreed to how to split up any property and debts, and agreed upon how the children will spend time with each parent. An easy divorce is best for everyone. It's much cheaper, as less time is spent lawyering and more time is spent working things out between you. It also is simpler emotionally, as little time is spent stressing over divorce-related issues. The Heinrich Firm can help you through this process by letting you do your own "homework", and therefore saving yourself some money. If issues do arise, we will be at your side guiding you to the solution that best fits your needs.
Hard
The "hard", or difficult divorce is the one that you heard your neighbor was going through. Often during these divorces, some of these issues are at play: one party isn't quite ready to separate yet, one spouse has strayed in the marriage, both spouses have set in stone ideas about what they want to see done with the children, and assets (money) and/or debts seem to be never ending issues. Cases such as these often times require experts, or other professionals, to help guide the litigation. For example, counselors may need to be consulted about the children, forensic accountants may need to be hired to see if money has been hidden or frittered away, evaluators may need to ascertain the value of certain marital properties, and/or private investigators may need to reveal if indiscretions have occurred.
The Heinrich firm is well equipped to handle these difficult cases. As an intern to a former federal prosecutor, Rene Heinrich was trained early in her career to trace and track money. Through the court's subpoena power, many facts that some think are undiscoverable may become easy to find. In addition, Ms. Heinrich's years of experience working with children have given her not only a solid common sense approach to handling children in a divorce, but also a broad list of professionals from which to seek help with unexpected issues. Most importantly to your bottom line, Ms. Heinrich knows and will advise you as to when it makes sense for you to hire in such a professional, and when you may be throwing good money after bad.
In between
Most divorces fall in this category. While not a brutal knock down drag out fight, you recognize that you and your soon to be ex have some areas where you can agree, and some where you can't. The Heinrich Firm will help you figure out what the big issues are. Then, we'll help you decide the best way to resolve those issues when considering your specific situation, the status of the law, and the judge on your case.
